Happy hours are the perfect opportunity to grab a drink and try a new restaurant! Whether you are visiting or local, these Austin happy hours offer delicious food and drinks for a great price!
Uchi & Uchiko
Uchi and Uchiko’s happy hours are not to be missed. They are popular, so reservations are highly encouraged. Uchi and Uchiko offer an abbreviated menu for happy hour. This includes nigiri, sashimi, tastings, beer, wine, and more all at a great price point. There are enough menu options to make this happy hour serve as an early dinner.
Where: Uchi – South Lamar; Uchiko – North Lamar
When: Daily from 4:00-6:30 PM
The Deals: Nigiri starting at $5, most tastings and sides are under $10; $5.50 beer, $7.50+ wine and sake
Clark’s
Clark’s happy hour is one of the more well-known happy hours amongst Austinites. It stays pretty busy, so a reservation is ideal. They serve one of the best hamburgers in Austin, alongside homemade pickles and rosemary shoestring fries. Clark’s is a great place for people-watching, and feels a bit like you are at a trendy outdoor cafe in Europe.
Where: Clarksville / West of Downtown
When: Monday – Friday from 3:00 – 5:00 PM
The Deals: Half-off burgers and martinis; 50 cents off oysters; $5 oyster shooters
ATX Cocina
ATX Cocina is a modern, upscale Mexican restaurant with unique architecture. All ingredients are extremely fresh, and dishes and drinks are well prepared. Their happy hour is short, but is still worth the visit.
Where: Downtown Austin
When: Monday – Thursday from 5:00-6:00 PM, Friday – Sunday from 4:00-5:00 PM
The Deals: $9 margaritas, $9 tacos, and $11 guacamole
Loro
Loro is a delicious combination of Asian and Texas cuisine, created by the owners of Franklin Barbecue and Uchi. Most importantly (for most Texans), it is a smokehouse with tender, flavorful brisket. Loro is very casual – reservations are not allowed. Customers order at the bar then seat themselves.
Where: South Lamar
When: Monday – Friday from 2:00 – 5:00 PM
The Deals: $5 select cocktails, wine, sake, and beer; $6 – $9 snacks and sandwiches
Juliet
We love that Juliet offers antipasti food specials in addition to drink specials. Their outdoor seating area is very relaxing and well thought-out. Juliet now has two locations, but we love the energy of the original one on Barton Springs.
Where: Barton Springs & Arboretum (two locations)
When: Daily from 3:00 – 6:00 PM
The Deals: $6 select cocktails (including Aperol Spritz), wine, and beer; special deals on “Happy Hour Antipasti” dishes
La Condesa
Located in central downtown, La Condesa is the perfect place to pop in to for a happy hour margarita or Watermelon Martini. There are no food specials during happy hour, but they have delicious Mexico City inspired cuisine if you are in the mood for dinner or a snack.
Where: Downtown Austin
When: Monday – Friday from 5:00-6:00 PM.
The Deals: Half-off all alcoholic beverages
El Alma
El Alma has some of the best margaritas and tacos in town. They have a “vibrant, homestyle take on the authentic flavors of Mexico”. The restaurant is casual, with a large rooftop deck. Although it’s not on their happy hour menu, the Queso Fundido is a must.
Where: Barton Springs
When: Daily from 3:00 – 6:00 PM
The Deals: $4 beer, $5 sangria, $7 margaritas, and $8 Mangoritas; discounted appetizers
Sway
Sway offers a modern take on Thai cuisine. It has a large rooftop deck, which overlooks the hill country and downtown Austin. Since it is not as close to downtown as some of the other restaurants on this list, it feels a bit more laid back.
Where: Westlake
When: Monday – Friday from 4:00-6:00 PM
The Deals: Half-off specialty cocktails, beer, wine, and sake; $4-$6 snacks and small bites.
Olive & June
Olive & June has a lovely patio surrounded by large oak trees. It is located in central Austin, just a little north downtown. Olive & June offers elevated Italian food, and amazing cocktails.
Where: Bryker Woods / Rosedale
When: Tuesday – Friday from 4:45-6:00 PM
The Deals: Half-off cocktails, beer, and wine
P6 at The Line
P6 at The Line is a trendy rooftop hotel bar with an amazing view of the river and Congress Bridge. It’s a great place for a girl’s night or bachelorette trip. Reservations are recommended, as it can get crowded during peak times.
Where: Downtown Austin
When: Monday – Friday 4:00-6:00 PM & Sunday 4:00-close
The Deals: On weeknights, you can expect $4 beer, $6-8 wine, and discounted snacks. On Sunday evenings, P6 offers $20 off all bottles of wine.
DuMont’s Down Low
DuMont’s Down Low is downtown, tucked away in a speakeasy-style basement on 4th Street. They make amazing craft cocktails, and have a moody atmosphere unlike any other bar in Austin. It is a great spot for a date, although it gets louder as the evening progresses.
Where: Downtown Austin
When: Monday – Friday 5:00-7:00 PM & Sunday All Day
The Deals: $7-$10 select cocktails, $3 select beer
Nightcap
We love that the Nightcap happy hour goes later than most happy hours, giving you plenty of time to get a couple of drinks after a long day at work. It is in a prime location on West 6th Street in Clarksville. There is a patio and front lawn which are dog friendly.
Where: Clarksville
When: Tuesday – Friday 5:00-7:00 PM
The Deals: $5 glasses of wine, $25 bottles of wine, $5-$8 beer, $10 signature cocktails, $5 snacks, and $10 food dishes
House Wine
House Wine offers wine, beer, and locally sourced cheese/charcuterie boards, snacks, and Bola pizza. They sell a range of wine varietals and prices. Despite being a wine bar, it is surprisingly down to earth. House Wine has live music several nights a week, and allows dogs in most areas outdoors.
Where: Barton Springs
When: Daily 3:00-6:00 PM, and Wednesday All Day
The Deals: $2 off all glasses of wine and $6 off all bottles; Monday: Special discounts on select wine, beer, and snacks; Thursday – $45 for a bottle of select wines and a charcuterie board; Sunday – half-price select bottles of wine
